With Their Black Sheen And Red Fleck In Their Feathers, The Barter Black Brings Some Class To Your Hen House!
The Barter Black is one of our signature breeds that originates from an Australorp and Rhode Island Red cross that is now bred true. This breed is not as large as the pure breds. They are usually black with a lot of red fleck in their feathers around the neck and body. For some of them, the red shines like copper in the sunshine and is really a magnificent sight!
The Barter Black hen is lighter in body weight and will eat less, making her efficient and economical in egg production.
